While this isn't a necessity in some European destinations, most countries prefer teachers who have a certification. Either way, it'll always make you better qualified and prepared for the job. Let’s have a look at the countries in Europe:
Poland is a gorgeous country and everyone should be here once. Some of the most popular places are Warsaw, and also Krakow, Gdansk, and Katowice. Callan teaching method is quite popular here and this needs to be kept in mind. The teaching method is used to encourage students to speak without translating the language first by running lessons at a slightly faster pace.
The capital city, Budapest, is an amazing place to be around due to its Gothic architecture and an old world charm. After a long and tiring day in the classroom, relaxing in a thermal bath or exploring the city with friends provides a big relief.
The French love their mother tongue. It's estimated that approx 39% of the population speak English. It means that the demand for English teacher for language lessons is pretty high throughout the country. On the other hand, France also has a rising demand for Business English teachers. Though they prefer considering people who knows business, over people who know teaching.
People of Denmark are able to speak English really well, as they start to learn it from a very early age. Students of Denmark students are eager learners and though there is plenty of work for English teachers in these countries, it is getting harder and harder to come by. There remains a lot of opportunity for independently organized tutoring jobs in Denmark. For first timers who are English teachers abroad, this could provide memories to last a lifetime.
Spain, like France, stands out for its government sponsored teaching program.  The biggest hurdle to clear while aiming to teach in Europe is to get a visa; these programs eliminate that problem entirely. In addition, the cost of living is quite affordable, making the initially low seeming English teaching salary in Spain not so bad.
Being an EFL/ESL teacher is an adventure in itself provided that you have a passion to teach and travel to various destinations around the world. The cultural differences that range from place to place will surely surprise you and broaden your horizons.

The Value and Importance of an Online Course

In a constantly changing and fiercely competitive world, the need and pressure to do more is tremendous. There is a continuous requirement to learn new skills, gain qualifications and at the same time acquire knowledge that is significant and relevant in today's technologically driven marketplace. During a time of booming digital economy, the demand for technically and analytically skilled and expert professionals is high. Such criteria are inspiring job prospects and stirring up competition among individuals willing to secure valuable talent.  With such a demand for learning and to remain ahead in the competition, service providers like training organizations, colleges and even universities have started providing courses that are not only flexible, but are accessible anytime, from any place.

The online courses came as a boon for many amidst a competitive and time-starved world. An online course sharpens the already existing skills in a person and broaden their horizons leaving their limitation of time and place far behind. Employers are slowly shifting their focus from ‘degree based’ hiring to a more ‘skill based’ hiring with many even agreeing to the fact that degrees are not even a priority for certain jobs. In the course of time, degrees will seize to exist in CVs and will lead to the demand of educational courses or skills that are shorter, cost saving and which are more relevant towards a particular type of career prospect. As for example, online TEFL courses prove beneficial to many as more and more people can learn the effective skills and approaches towards EFL/ESL teaching. Classroom learning is still considered valuable in today's modern world but an increasing amount of people does not feel the necessity to be tied to a confined place or time to acquire new skills. In fact, according to a recent study, a fair percent of all college and university students are now enrolled with their online education courses.
Apart from the above mentioned importance of an online course, let us peek into the other benefits of it:
•    Online programs offer an array of courses which may not be possible for an in class mode. Be it university courses, completely online colleges or special courses to hone the skills for better job prospects.
•    One of the important factors is that it brings down the total cost of the course and makes it more affordable. It’s not always the course cost, it can also be associated costs too. Like commutation cost, material cost etc.
•    Students can log onto the course material according to their convenience, making it possible for them to keep up with other responsibilities. Online courses offer excellent options for working people because it allows them to work and study at unusual times, which they are used to in their line of work.
•    More and more service providers, universities are offering online programs, increasing the available options and allowing students to search until they find one that meets their needs.
•    Online courses are available round-the-clock to any student with a computer and Internet access, unlike on-campus courses.
•    Online students can study right from their homes; saving time and fuel, and sparing the journey. It also eliminates having to commute in rough weather.
•    Online students learn through a variety of ways, including Web cams, CD/DVDs, animation and virtual classrooms.
There are advantages and disadvantages to every type and mode of learning environment. Students/professionals need to examine and study both the pros and cons which will contribute greatly in making a decision about his/her career path. So point of concern is that, the efforts that any student puts into their learning, will eventually determine how much he/she will retain and how beneficial the overall experience will become to his/her future career or job prospects.

Why a TEFL Certification and Experience Go Hand in Hand

In recent times, the demands for certified and skilled trainers in EFL/ESL teaching are soaring in most parts of the world. TEFL stands for Teaching English as a Foreign Language, is gradually increasing in value and will continue to do so in the days to come. As English continues to gain importance throughout the world, the non- native nations are realising the significance of English as an international communication medium and are showing keen interest in the English communication skills which in turn is earning soaring demand for TEFL certified teachers who are able to help and improve their English skills. Similarly TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) qualified teachers are in equal demand. To be more convenient, when these terms applies to the field of teaching abroad, there remains very little or negligible difference. The acronyms almost mean the same thing. That is, teaching English to the non-native speakers. In the same way, a vast majority of cases deals with a TEFL and TESOL when it comes to teaching English abroad. If you are looking ahead to get a TEFL certification, make sure to gain some experience as well with practice teaching (or similar methods), before applying to schools abroad. In that way, you can gain confidence before stepping in a classroom. Teaching English abroad is as much a career for experienced, retired persons as for people looking for a change in their job. It also attracts people who have a taste for travelling and earning at the same time.

So why is it necessary to have a proper certification despite having teaching experience? It is because excellent training provides you with the required skills that you need to become an effective EFL/ESL teacher. A trained teacher with a strong grip on the subject matter and responsibilities is a favoured criterion, and with that, chances are higher that you will enjoy a satisfying and gratifying teaching experience. Majority of reputed schools and language institutes (both public and private) throughout the world will not even consider your application for a teaching candidate if there is an absence of internationally accredited TEFL certification. If you want to be considered for decent English teaching jobs in your native or in non-native countries, you must hold an accredited TEFL certification. In some countries, experience in teaching is a sought after criterion along with a TEFL Certification that is required for a non-native person to legally work as an English teacher.
During school or institute based interviews for the position of an English teacher, you may be asked to exhibit a strong grip on basic teaching skills like lesson planning, curriculum development, and teaching methodology, that can only be gained through taking a quality accredited TEFL certification course along with a few years of work experience. Experience is a necessary factor as it provides an individual with much needed confidence required to face real life challenges. In an era of narrowing job markets, every advantage needs to be given and without an accredited TEFL certification; you will certainly put yourself in the disadvantage. With an accredited TEFL certification through any reputed TEFL training institute, you will receive along a Job Search Guidance that will help you to keep track of the international job markets, understand employment practices in different countries, and to benefit yourself with the best possible job opportunities. It can be anywhere in the world, may even be your dream destination where you have wanted to teach English. Possibly and most significantly, lacking in proper training that you will receive with an accredited TEFL/TESOL certification course, you will be unable to provide the quality educational experience to your students. So a proper certification and experience goes hand in hand as seniority with experience is looked up to as valuable as providing and inculcating the same in students. Teachers should identify and answer accordingly to their needs and thoughts. That can only be achieved with years of experience. As a TEFL/TESOL trainer, exploring varied cultures and backpacking through a wide range of nations will provide you with the much needed experience to foster a good learning and creativity filled classroom environment.

5 myths About Being A TEFL Teacher

The TEFL world is large and complicated landing students amidst a plethora of questions. Many who are new to the field and do not have enough knowledge about the same tend to get perplexed owing to the mixed answers provided by the blogs, forums and other sites. Everyone has his/her own reason of entering the crazy world of TEFL – while some aspire to teach and explore, some others want a mid-career change. Here are some straight forward answers to the five most common myths all the TEFL aspirants have.

I won’t be looked upon well by the employers if I have teach abroad experience on my resume
Nothing can be as far from this as the truth. If you have teaching experience abroad on the resume, it actually attests the fact that how flexible and independent you are and capable of navigating difficult situations. Not to mention, you might have even picked up a foreign language during your tenure, which has helped you develop a valuable skill set. Besides, this serves as a great talking point in any interview. This is undoubtedly a fact that your experience abroad will definitely make you stand out among the other candidates.
Myth 2
I have to know the native tongue of the foreign country where I shall go to teach English
It is the other way round. While knowing the native tongue can make your communication easy with your students, this might, in turn, defeat your sole goal, i.e., teaching English. You might get tempted to talking to them in their native language rather than communicating with them in English. This is wrong for the Direct Method (a method of teaching English only in English) works best for TEFL. Nonetheless, in the course of your stay in the foreign country you will eventually achieve fluency in the language.

Myth 3
I cannot teach abroad without having a degree
This cannot really be termed as a myth as majority of schools around the world do prefer a college degree for selecting a TEFL teacher, like in most locations of Asia, a college degree is highly essential. However, there are places in South and Central America where one can qualify as a TEFL teacher without a college degree.
Myth 4
TEFL career does not pay for your living
Oh come on! You really need to wake up and get a concrete market review. You can make way more money teaching in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) than you can think as the tax is less and accommodation is free! And even if you get the opportunity to teach in China or South Korea even then you will be able to save a lot of money.
Myth 5
I don’t need a TEFL certification to teach abroad
This is the biggest myth one can ever come across. In today’s TEFL market, the best jobs with the best salaries are reserved for the certified candidates. So, unless you have a TEFL certification you will be really pushed back in the competitive market of TEFL jobs.

TEFL, TESOL or CELTA – Which Course Should You Choose?

Are you thinking of taking up the profession of teaching English as a foreign language which also entails travelling around the world? Then by now you must have understood that pursuing a training course on the same is the only way to enjoy a fulfilling career. However while searching for the most suitable training programs most of the aspirants seem to get confused by the array of international courses that are available all across, both in the on-site as well as online modes of learning. And the main elements of confusion are usually regarding TEFL, TESOL and CELTA. Let us discuss this and try and clear up the doubts and queries that cloud up the minds of the teaching aspirants.

TEFL, TESOL and CELTA all three have the same meaning and relevance in the international teaching market. TEFL stands for Teaching English as a Foreign Language, TESOL stands for Teaching English to the Speakers of other language and CELTA stands for Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults and refers to Cambridge Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. Therefore it can be well understood that all the three terms are almost similar. The term TEFL is used in most parts of the world whereas TESOL is mainly used in the North America, Canada and Australia.
CELTA is a highly revered teacher training program that is considered by many educational institutes as the benchmark for teaching English in any part of the world. However both are the same product, CELTA having a specific brand name. The University of Cambridge is the affiliating body for all the CELTA courses and since it is such a renowned and prestigious educational institution that is held in high esteem by one and all, hence a CELTA certificate is considered to be more prestigious than those courses accredited by other certification bodies. CELTA courses need to follow and adhere to certain requirements and hence it is a given that the courses are of international standards.
TEFL courses on the other hand provided by various training institutes and are affiliated by different institutes. The course curriculum is also not fixed like CELTA with no fixed curriculum and each institute formulating their own curriculum. This however does not mean that TEFL/TESOL courses are less valuable or holds lesser weightage than CELTA courses;TEFL courses are available in many levels and can exceed CELTA.
Nevertheless, everything depends on the recruiter as to which certificate they are giving preference and importance to. However both CELTA and TEFL can be pursued in the online as well as in-class mode of learning and both give equal importance to practicum classes whereas the theoretical course content comprises of language awareness and learning skills, communication in various modes- reading, writing, listening, and speaking, lesson planning and the various approaches to teaching English to learners who first language of communication is not English, etc.
In order to pursue any of the courses, whether TEFL or CELTA, it requires the aspiring candidates to possess near native English fluency, both in speaking and writing model, and a high school education degree. However CELTA gives preference to those who are 20 years of age and above whereas for TEFL/TESOL the minimum age criteria is 18 years. Also TEFL training courses are available in cheaper variations than CELTA courses. Hence if you are really looking forward to teach English and have a long career in it then pursuing a CELTA course will be beneficial, however if you are not too sure and want to test the waters then pursuing the certificate or Diploma TEFL Course will be a wiser decision. (Also remember nowadays most countries well accept a certified TEFL training certificate).

Knowing the Classroom Management Techniques is the Key to Become an Accomplished Teacher

"It took a while for me to figure out that classroom management was really a relationship building skill." Jeremey Wilder ‏
Managing classrooms and at the same time teaching the learners in the classrooms can quite be a difficult task to achieve if the teacher is a newbie and not well trained in conducting classes. New teachers, who are yet to start any kind of teaching or have just started their career in teaching, may find it difficult to manage the learners in the classrooms and at the same time ensure that they are able to utilize the maximum amount of time in the class to their benefit, more so because of their lack of experience in the required field. Classroom management has become an essential element in today’s classrooms, including ESL/EFL ones. Classes comprise of learners from various backgrounds, ethnicity and culture and therefore each one’s behavior is bound to differ from the other. Hence a formal training on Classroom Management will prove to be beneficial for you both as a regular and TEFL teacher, if you intend to have a well accomplished, fulfilling career in teaching and training.

Classroom management training TEFL online courses usually comprise of topics on learning strategies to foster a learning environment in the classroom, the principles of correct learning, what are the roles expected out of a teacher and the students present in the class, the meaning and use of the term ‘discipline’, the techniques that are to be practiced in the classroom to motivate and encourage the learners in classroom participation, managing large groups when the size of the class is big, time management strategies and many other equally important topics.
Classroom management techniques also comprise of identifying disruptive learners in the classroom and dealing with them (i.e. prevent any form of disruption from occurring), handling disruption when they have already occurred, encourage good behavior, if possible make a list of the types of behavioral guide to be followed in the class, and the types of unacceptable behavior that are prohibited and would attract actions and disciplinary practices. Other necessary rules to be included in that guideline may vary from not interrupting when the teacher speaks, clear doubts and queries when the teacher says so, refrain from correcting fellow classmates when they make any mistake, homework policies to be followed, and other rules which the teacher might think to be necessary. Also, handling large groups can really be difficult for teachers hence dividing these groups into smaller groups and then assigning them with tasks. It is necessary for the learners in the class, especially Young learners, feel comfortable for learning in places and situations where they feel safe and not threatened
Lesson planning is another effective strategy to ensure that you as a teacher are able to effectively use your time in the classroom. A typical lesson plan will include both learning from the books or blackboards but also efficacious learning activities that are interesting enough for the learners to participate and engage them in those activities. A well planned lesson plan will not only boost your confidence as a teacher as you go prepared for the class but also help you be on track as the class progresses and refrain you from discussing other things too much that are not related to the subject.
Another key component of classroom management is feeling calm and confident. A new teacher who is just starting out may feel nervous however if the learners sense it then it is not good news for the teacher. Hence whatever you are going thorough, the key is to get yourself together and project a cool and confident teacher to the learners.A teaching practice session in this case will be a great help and will surely provide you with the essential first hand teaching experience before you venture into the real world of teaching.

Find a Job for Managing an Education Institute with an Educational Management Program

Education management can be defined as “a complex human enterprise in which different resources are brought together and made available to achieve and to accomplish the desire and expected goals or objectives.”
In order to ensure smooth and proper operation of an educational institute, to make sure that whatever resources is available is used to the best of its capabilities, is what entails a job of an education administrator. These managers oversee and manage the administration of the education institution to get the best outcomes for the institution. Educational management is concerned with schools, colleges, universities and other educational organizations and involves the organization and its administration into managing the existing “establishment and systems” and also bringing about reforms for the better functioning of the education institution.

Education management comprises of rules, regulation and a number of principles that guides the functioning of the system of an educational institution. It deals with both human and materialistic resources of the institution. The board of management is headed by the principal or the partners/stakeholders of the institution, followed by the teacher-in-charges who ensure that they are able to reach their targets within the stipulated time frame.
It is an educational institution which imparts knowledge, skills and values to the students so that they become more productive and useful to themselves and society, it is the education administrators who ensure that there this goal is achieved without much obstacles.
In this highly competitive market, where there are thousands of schools growing up, it has become essential for them to maintain a high standard of education and at the same time develop their unique quality that will separate them from the rest, not to forget the on-going debit and credit of income.
Education managers should always keep in mind that the purpose of their institutions is to provide quality education to their students; hence they should stress on the ways and procedures of teaching each subject so as to make them suit the needs of the students and prove beneficial for them.
The goal of education is not only “to increase the amount of knowledge but to create the possibilities for a child to invent and discover, to create men who are capable of doing new things.” (Jean Piaget)
In order to accelerate this process, people are needed to manage and look over the whole process, so that the goal is met as well as the institution is also able to run in a proper manner.
Educational Managers usually belong to the non-teaching staffs who do not or have very less academic jobs and concentrate on the working of the institution which involve handling the human resources like the teachers, students and other working staffs and also the non-human resources like maintaining salaries, building and premises maintenance, and managing/taking care of any internal or external problem that may arise. Therefore, they are responsible for maintaining the well-being of the institution as a whole, taking care of the needs of the teachers and the students as well as the finances.
As managers in a corporate organization try to provide the best working environment for their employees in order to make them more productive, likewise it the function and responsibility of the Education managers to make the task easier for the teachers and professors to do their job well.
If you are looking for such a rewarding and satisfying career, where you will be assigned the job of making the education process easier for the teachers and the students, then it is needless to say that a professional course from a good teacher training institute on the same will ensure that you reach your goal and be successful in it.

Pursue the Young Learner’s Teacher’s Training Course to Become an Expert in the Field

If contributing and making a positive difference in the lives of others and loving the company of children are the two points that go hand-in-hand for you, then you should definitely be in the teaching profession. Teaching is undoubtedly the noblest job as teachers are considered to be educators who have the responsibility of making the future citizens of the nation. Growing children are in such a stage of their life where they grasp and take in mannerisms and knowledge that is shared with them. Hence teachers need to be trained to know the correct and right approaches to dealing with them.

Communication in the English language has become very important in today’s age because of it being made as the lingua franca. It was quite a problem for the non-native English speaking nations to communicate freely with each other, a lack of a common language being the hurdle. Hence, as English has gained the status of lingua franca, it has become absolutely essential for all to know the language to be able to become part of and understand the global culture, trade and business.
A course in TEFL/TESOL is the perfect course if you are looking to become a teacher for children in different places of the world, belonging to different culture, beliefs or religion. Young children are again not very easy to control. Unlike adults attending classes, who generally come with a certain set of expectations and ideas relating to the class and aspire to learn and gain new knowledge and skills, young children have to attend classes either because of parental pressure, peer pressure or due to their schools in which they study. Hence, if the lessons are not made interesting enough to grab and hold their attention, then the learners would not learn anything nor would they find it gripping enough to put their mind into it.
